We at Scotts Wine World have turned a pastime passion into a full-time business supplying excellent, hand-picked wines "direct from the vineyard straight to your door".

How things change

There was a time, and not so long ago, when the idea of putting a couple of bottles of wine into the weekly shopping trolley would have been as unthinkable as cooking with garlic. Wine was either the preserve of an upper-class elite, an irritating affectation at pretentious dinner parties or something funny that foreigners drank. It certainly was not the wholesome and indispensable part of daily life it always has been in wine-making countries and is becoming more so in the U.K.

Now that we are regularly including wine in our weekly spending we are met with a delightful dilemma: The world has some 25 million acres of vineyards producing more than 40,000 million bottles of wine. That's a lot of wine to choose from, and that's where Scott's Wine World comes in.

Why we're different?

Scotts Wine World specialise in identifying excellent quality wines at very affordable prices from all over the world.

We like to think we are different particularly in our approach. We like to combine and introduce new wines to customers, and take the mystique and snobbery out of tasting and buying wine. We allow customers to purchase and offer the opportunity to "try before you buy". Customers, whether private or commercial, can do this by attending or hosting one of our many wine tasting events held all over the country. These events can be as varied as a corporate wine tasting for 250 people, to a more intimate tasting, for example, 12 friends at home. The events are designed to be great fun as well as educational.

Scotts Wine World also make a point of knowing that bit more about the specific vineyard or the wine maker concerned. Everyone loves a story, and by doing that bit more research, and visiting many vineyards we are able to identify with the work and passion that has gone into the making of the particular wines.
